Why This Property?
I love small town Mexico. There is an authentic cultural aspect here that is sometimes lost in the big resort towns. I love small town Mexico. There is an authentic cultural aspect here that is sometimes lost in the big resort towns. The neighborhood is a wonderful mix of local shops, family homes, rental properties, even a school and a tortilleria! Street vendors sell their goods, each with their unique call. Tamales, avocados, fruits and vegetables. Fresh fish is abundant in this little coastal town. Life is slower here, more relaxed.
Mexico has a warm culture. You can interact with the locals - vendors and neighbors. Wander the markets for arts and goods from local suppliers. Unique handcrafts and foods. And everything a riot of color!
The beach is half a block from the house. Walk out the front gate, turn to your right and the Pacific beckons you. Our local beach is quiet and rarely crowded.
Casa Pacifico is a true walk-to-everything property. El centro, with its shops, grocers, and meat and fish markets, is 5 blocks away and an even shorter walk along the beach. Smaller markets are within a block. If you want to go farther afield, cabs are cheap and plentiful. There are many tour companies in the area as well.
Area attractions are many and varied, whether you are an observant traveler, or an active participant. Turtle conservation experiences are available various times of the year. Day trips include jungle garden tours, volcano excursions, and an afternoon at one of our many beaches. Hiking trails abound with those near Los Ayala maintained during peak months. Satisfy your internal thrill seeker with a zipline tour or a meander through the fumeroles of a semi active volcano. Jungle river tours get you up close and personal with birds, turtles and crocodiles. Snorkeling and kayaking are popular pastimes in the bay. Farther afield are the ruins at Ixtlan del Rio, tours of tequila factories, and shopping in Tonalá or Tlaquepeque. Or visit one of the local Huichol villages and marvel at their intricate bead and yarn art.
Come share the colors and warmth of Mexico.
