The owner of this property requires a 50% down payment to reserve and full payment 60 days before check-in.
We stayed in this lovely beach home with three other families (23 people altogether with kids ranging in age from 1 to 19 years old). There was plenty of space for everyone to sleep and eat and other gathering spaces, like the multiple balconies/porch areas, play room upstairs, and the pool deck out back. The house was beautifully decorated and the furnishings were all brand new. The beach was less than a minute's walk away and right across the street! You can see the Gulf from the second story balcony, which is great for early morning coffee. The beds were extremely comfortable and I think at least a few had memory foam mattresses. Both kitchens were exceptionally well furnished--more so than many other places we have stayed in the same area. We planned a low country boil for all the families where we boiled shrimp and cooked other seafood, and we had plenty of pots and pans to go around! The pool was pretty small, especially considering that we came with 11 children to entertain. It was really more the size of a hot tub, but we still enjoyed our time on the deck and the outdoor kitchen has plenty of useful amenities. The Hollywood-Laguna Beach part of town is notable for being family-friendly and away from the Spring Break craziness that sometimes takes over Panama City Beach. Pier Park is about a 10 minute drive east on Back Beach Drive (or Hwy 98) and there are several restaurants/cafes within driving distance. Highway 30A is also about a ten minute drive and is a great spot for families or couples. Staying here without a car might prove difficult, as there isn't much within a reasonable walking distance. During our stay at nighttime, the AC and power went out on part of the third floor. After trouble-shooting several options with us on the phone, Clarissa and Jason (the property owners) had an electrician come out the following morning. The problem was resolved quickly and professionally and resulted one of the families having to sleep in the Florida summer heat for a night, but I suppose that couldn't be helped. One of the coffeepots on the bottom floor was cracked and could not be used, but that did not bother us much. None of these things would deter me from rating this property as a 5 out of 5, as the owners were exceptionally communicative throughout the booking process and were happy to help in any way possible. We would definitely stay again and have recommended the place to our friends and family!
I booked this house in Feb for our reunion in June. It was fun to see the pictures as the house became more and more beautiful. When we arrived, we were not disappointed! House is beautiful but more than that, so comfortable for a group of 20! We ate together, visited and played games on the balcony and then could go to our separate spaces! Wonderful. Everyone loved the beach and it was easy to reach-just across the street. For us old folk it was such a treat to sit on the upstairs balcony and see the water and people watch all day! Thanks so much to the owners for all their help. We will be back!
We absolutely loved this new, clean, beautifully decorated house. It has so much space and has a beautiful view of the ocean. We loved that the ocean is right there and is easy to get to. Having two kitchens made it so easy to be able to cook and prepare food and there were so many places for people to eat as well. Each level has it's own balcony with a beautiful view and plenty of places for people to sit and enjoy the awesome view. We really appreciated that the entry to the pool had an alarm to help us feel safe since we had little children. The owners of the house were very personable and helpful if we had any questions or concerns about anything. If we texted, called or e-mailed them, they were very very quick to respond which was very reassuring to us. The house is very well stocked with everything anyone would need. There were plenty of bath towels, beach towels, kitchen items, and bedding items. I would recommend this house to anyone looking for a great place to stay in Panama City, Florida.
We saw the construction photos in December 2015 and took a chance on the Double Down for our July 2016 Family Vacation. We are extremely glad we did. The ocean views are gorgeous. Even when you are inside the large second floor kitchen/living/dining area, you know that you are at the beach thanks to an expansive wall of windows. The balconies provide great living space and were wonderful for watching 4th of July fireworks. The backyard pool is modest sized, but the kids enjoyed it. There were often 6 or 7 of them in the pool at one time, and they didn't have a problem making it work. The outdoor shower was very helpful, and our grill master Jim was thrilled with the green, egg-shaped grill. The beach was just across the road, the sand was soft and sugary, and the water was that lovely green-blue color. We experienced a little seaweed during our visit, but it is the ocean. This stretch of beach is also pleasant because it is not overly crowded. We set-up our umbrellas and chairs in the same spot each day. The house does have some beach towels and a few beach chairs, but if you are driving, I would recommend bringing some of your own, especially if you have a large group. Otherwise, the Publix, Winn Dixie and dollar stores are within a couple of miles of the house, and they each carry these sorts of items. Our group included infants, toddlers, children, tweens, teenagers, adults, and Grandpa NoNo, who is 83. Grandpa NoNo said Yes! Yes! to this beautiful beach house. He was impressed with how well stocked the kitchen was, as were the rest of us. We had four different family units, so the two kitchens and nine bedrooms were perfect. Everyone commented on how comfortable the mattresses were. The kids particularly enjoyed the foosball table and other games in the third floor living room. Clarissa was always timely and pleasant in her communications regarding the property. She has created a well-designed and beautifully appointed vacation home. Our family highly recommends this large, comfortable beach house.
We looked for a place that could accommodate our large family that had beach access, pool, enough separation where we weren't on top of one another and.we found it. :). Not to mention the house is new and has all the amenities of home. We will be keeping this house on our list for the future and I highly recommend this to any large family. If there is anything that I would say is negative was the construction going on next door. They started early and a little loud out by the pool. Sometimes that happens.....other than that it was AWESOME! My Response Thank you for the review, and for letting us know that they have finally begun work on the property next door. We have eagerly anticipated that, not because of the construction aspect of course :-) but because they are going to be making it into a wonderful new addition to our neighborhood! Having spoken with the owner many times over the past year, his intentions are to offer paddleboard, beach chair and bicycle rentals as well as have a small gallery (his wife is an artist) and a coffee/espresso shop. I am very excited to see what the final plans end up being since that building has been vacant for so long. We hadn't been down there since the season picked up back in May so I was unaware of their progress. Sorry for the noise by the pool but on the bright side, its definitely progress! Steve, thank you again and I look forward to having your family back to stay again (post construction!) :-)
