Time to Unwynd is an oceanfront, 4 BR home surrrounded by dunes on pristene, tranquil Bald Head Island, North Carolina. It is in the Killegray/Flora's Bluff community of custom, beachside houses. There is direct beach access via a boardwalk directly from the house to the beach; there are no roads to cross. You can sit on the front porch in your rocking chair and watch the dolphins swim by or sit on the upper deck off the master bedroom and have a direct view of Frying Pan Shoals also known as Cape Fear.
Bedrooms
• 1 BR is on the first floor with a private screened porch, en-suite bathroom, and two twin beds.
• Master BR is upstairs with a king-size bed, en-suite bathroom, and a private porch.
• The 3rd bedroom upstairs has two twin beds and private bath.
• The 4th BR is in a separate guest house, a Crofter, just outside of the back door . The crofter is a second master, and it has a king bed and a full BR.
• There are also two inflatable twin mattresses that can be used for additional sleeping.

We live in Charlotte, NC. We started coming to Bald Head Island in 1997. I immediately fell in love with the island! They say a place can have a soul and Bald Head definitely does. Once you get on the ferry you feel all the stress and worries of the mainland melt away. I also thought it would be a wonderful place for my children to create life long memories.

Why This Property?
We bought our first house in 1999. We started to outgrow that house as our children got older and wanted to bring friends with them to the island. We needed more space but I didn't want to leave our neighborhood of Killegray/Flora's Bluff. The beach in front of our home was wide and uncrowded. We bought our first house in 1999. We started to outgrow that house as our children got older and wanted to bring friends with them to the island. We needed more space but I didn't want to leave our neighborhood of Killegray/Flora's Bluff. The beach in front of our home was wide and uncrowded. My daily beach walk out the front to Cape Fear, one of the most beautiful places on the planet, was just the right distance. I did not want to leave my "perfect spot" on the island. Luckily a larger oceanfront home just 5 houses down became available for sale. I jumped at the chance to buy it! It was just the right size for our needs with four bedrooms, four baths, a bigger living area and room in the garage for two golf carts. Now I just needed a name for our new home. After lots of suggestions from friends and family.....none of which I used ;), the name "Time to Unwynd" came to me because that is what the house provides it's guests. The spelling of Unwynd is because the roads on Bald Head are called Wynds, not roads or streets.
Unique Benefits
I love my panoramic ocean views from almost every window in the house. Each morning it is a delight to open the blinds and see ocean all the way to Cape Fear.

Wonderful Bald Head Experience at Time to Unwynd ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We just stayed with our children (both under three) at Time to Unwynd. It was perfect for our family. We have gone to Bald Head for the last three years (different house each time) and this was our favorite. It has lots of room to spread out, gorgeous views of the ocean, and a location that can't be beat. It was also great having a new and large golf cart with seat belts to transport our family (the house actually comes with two carts). We enjoyed our stay so much that I can't wait to go back. My only regret is that with an infant and a toddler, we never got a chance to drink our coffee while rocking on the upper porch overlooking the ocean. Maybe next year!
