ROCKY TOP LODGE is perfect for a family friendly adventure, time with friends or a romantic stay. It is furnished to provide the creature comforts of modern day while maintaining the old fashioned warmth of a mountain cabin.
You can relax or play in this 2-story, 3 bedroom, 2 bath, rustic mountain home. Once inside the open concept Great Room with it's soaring ceiling, beautiful wall of windows and wood interior, you may never want to leave.
Gather round the fireplace and enjoy a cup of hot cocoa from our Fireside Snack Basket (popcorn and S'mores too!)
The large deck is a perfect place to BBQ or just recline on the hammock and watch the resident blue jays and squirrels frolic in the pines trees.
The downstairs game room (the "Attic") includes a slate top pool table, 40" LED Dish satellite TV, a cozy reading corner and our own Wildlife Rescue Corner with cuddly critters for the younger guests to befriend and a separate entrance that suits big kids and adults alike. It also doubles as a 3rd bedroom with a twin daybed and trundle, a pellet stove and a half bath with separate shower room. The laundry room with washer/dryer is also on this level.
LOCATION: Just 90 minutes north of Los Angeles in Pine Mountain Club, a private residential community surrounded by 1.7 million acres of Los Padres National Forest. It's spectacular mountain setting is one of Southern California's best kept secrets.

CELL SERVICE: Is now available on the mountain for Verizon customers only.
DOGS: One well-behaved dog will be considered for a small (non-refundable) fee; please disclose when inquiring. A second dog may be considered for an additional fee. (No cats, please).
If your dog has an accident there is spray in the utility cabinet. We provide a large dog crate if it will make your doggie feel more comfortable during the night. Pine Mountain Club regulations require all dogs to be on leash when outside. There is a dog run, but dogs are not to be left unattended. Please clean up after them. Doggie poop bags are provided. And in consideration of future guests please do not allow dogs on furniture or beds.
OUR REQUESTS: Please treat our home as you would your own. You will have access to the entire cabin. There are a few storage areas for our stuff. Otherwise the place is yours. We maintain a smoke-free environment. Do NOT smoke anywhere on the property. Conserve water. There is a severe water shortage in the region. Please take short showers.

Pine Mountain Club situated below the peak of Mount Pinos is a resort community offering golf, tennis, swimming, horseback riding, clubhouse with a great 19th hole, cafe and recreation room for kids/teens. The club has a full calender of activities including yoga, aerobics, music and toddler/kid events. The area has incredible hiking, cross country skiing, sledding, horseback rides and dirt bike riding. Only 25 minutes from the Hungry Valley Off-Road Recreation area, 35 minutes from Pyramid Lake and 55 minutes from Six Flags Magic Mountain. The Ridge Route Museum in Frazier Park is just minutes away. Mount Pinos at 8800' only 20 minutes away offers x-country skiing; fabulous mountain biking; and is a mecca for amateur astronomers. Fort Tejon State Historical Park, just 25 minutes away near the town of Lebec, is open daily and on the 1st Sunday of the month offers Living History Civil War Reenactments.

We designed and constructed this unique 2-level Craftsman lodge-like home ourselves. Every rock, board and shingle was chosen and placed with our own hands. The rocks and boulders had to be dug out for the foundation. We even had to blast a 'ledge' (translation: rock as big as the mountain!) to pour the lower concrete floor. We designed and constructed this unique 2-level Craftsman lodge-like home ourselves. Every rock, board and shingle was chosen and placed with our own hands. The rocks and boulders had to be dug out for the foundation. We even had to blast a 'ledge' (translation: rock as big as the mountain!) to pour the lower concrete floor. You can see why we christened it 'Rocky Top'. We had planned to make this our home, but family obligations delayed our plans. After years of being leased-out (even sold once and then reclaimed!) we have renovated, decorated and restored this gem to share with you. Like many people Linda, an avid decorator, dreamed of owning a B&B. This is probably as close as she will get. Our family and friends traveled up from the Los Angeles area a few days every week for a year to work on this restoration. Richard, now a retired general contractor, turned the business over to our son who did the heavy lifting and electrical. Our neighbor, a retired plumber, graciously gave many hours to the project. Linda had great fun pulling the parts and pieces together. The talents of our children are showcased in the many custom artworks, wood works and stained glass windows throughout the lodge.

Few people knew about Pine Mountain Club in 1972. We saw a television ad. Tennaco was developing the land. Mil Potrero Hwy was as yet unpaved. No signs, no guardrails, no nothing! We were young, still newlyweds after only four years dreaming of getting away from city life. We fell in love with the area and purchased the lot across the street. Linda's parents helped us build. We worked for three years constructing layer upon layer. It was our dream home. We planned to all retire there together. But then tragedy struck. Linda's dad had a stroke and our beautiful cabin was not handicap accessible. So...we sold our dear creation, purchased another lot across the street (Rocky Top) and started again. It's not visible from the towering front, but the back bedroom starts at ground level. Everyone got to enjoy the beautiful mountains for a few years before the mile-high altitude proved too much for an elderly heart. Rocky Top was then leased out. We missed it terribly and no one cared for it as lovingly as we had. Then a terrible storm blew through in March 2011. We came up the mountain for the first time in many years, saw our beloved Rocky Top and decided then and there to reclaim it. We've had a grand time!!! And now we're ready to share our joy with you. So, why do we call it a LODGE? The word "cabin" just didn't it's character. By definition a 'Lodge' is a country house 'occupied in season for sports' - hunting, fishing, skiing, swimming, tennis, golf, bird watching, star gazing, reading, relaxing, deep breathing!! (all sanctioned sports at Pine Mountain Club!!!) ... we just had to call it a LODGE!!

In spring stroll down our wooded path and smell the fragrant lilacs. Sit in the log swing and listen to the wind whisper in the pines. We had an absolutely magical stay. We got our White Christmas and the whole family was together - what more could you ask for. This cabin is so full of love, you all most feel like family the moment you walk in the door. We are sad to leave, but we made some memories to cherish and hope to be back soon.

Hi Linda, I wanted to say thank you for your hospitality. 3 themed rooms not unlike the Madonna Inn in San Luis Obispo. You've taken interior decorating to the nth degree. It took a lot of love and attention to detail to put together the Rocky Top Lodge experience. Not just a cabin... or just a place to sleep... another stop on the road with no distinguishing factors.... this home totally immerses you in nature and cabin life with amazing sights and sounds. This includes beautiful high quality quilts and animal decor lamps, etc. literally everywhere you look! We expected a bit of this as most Pine Mtn homes have a piece or two of log furniture and the mandatory bear or deer photos here and there.... but nothing like this! Plus its very comfortable with good bedding and towels... and most of all very CLEAN. The cabin is extremely well-stocked with every kitchen tool you could want as well as books and videos... you literally need only bring your clothes, some groceries and cell phone and you are good to go! Most surprisingly, since it is nearly Christmas... the entire exterior was a light show of Christmas cheer. Our eyes about popped out when we pulled into the driveway with this unexpected treat. I don't even want to decorate my house for Christmas now as I could not come close to achieving what we had in Pine Mtn and we are feeling very content already. The whole home was like one big Christmas present. We are so glad we were there during the holiday season but will come back in the summer to basque in the mtn sun and enjoy that porch swing.

This cabin is just filled with wild life and feels like you are deep in the forest. The bears, deer, moose, fish and ducks create a wonderful decor that bring you into a delightful mountain environment with the most loving touch of details. This place is really unbelievable and should be enjoyed by anyone who wants a relaxing higher elevation experience. The outside wild life is also a treat to watch. We treat this place like our very own home, with care and conscious behavior. We look out on the mountain range and are refreshed in the view. We breathe in such wondrous smells that we are invigorated every time we stay here. The owners Linda and Felicity have been nothing but excellent in their treatment of us and always making sure that we have everything we may need to enjoy their beautiful cabin. We look forward to staying here again, and again and again.... PS: My husband and son just love the pool table and couldn't stop playing!! Many thanks, Deborah, Daniel and Devin

Beautiful home! I cannot explain the peacefulness and comfort this home provides. Clean and fully stocked with everything you need to enjoy a relaxing vacation. Additional bonus......WONDERFUL HOSTS!!! Having stayed in pine mountain club with other hosts I cannot explain the ease and communication with the host which seem to care about your comfort as a guest. True 5 star experience!! We stayed at this wonderful home in the mountains, 8/3/16 for 3 nights. The pictures here don't do it justice, and the owners were easy to work with. The home was very clean, and well maintained. We had 3 teenage girls, and a 4 year old with us, and they absolutely didn't want to leave to continue on up the coast for the rest of our vacation. They wanted to stay here the entire time, and we did too. There is plenty of room for everyone, and beds were comfortable. The 2 younger ones loved the bunk beds. The only problem was deciding who got to sleep on the top. LOL! If we come back to California, we will definitely book this place for the entire week. Thank you for a wonderful beginning to our visit to California!!!!
