Family friendly tropical paridise with great pool and steps from beautiful beach with great waves. This house was built as a place of refuge for Christian Missionaries that are part of the El Salvador Missionary Fellowship.
We love El Zonte and have been spending several months a year here since we bought the property 8 years ago. Last year we decided to build this new guest home primarily as a retreat for a number of Christian missionaries who are serving the people of El Salvador (children's homes, water projects, churches ect) In order to help us cover the cost of monthly utilities and staff we have also opened it up to use by families and groups who wish to provide a market rate donation for use of the home April-August. The home has 3 bedrooms and two bathrooms a full kitchen, and indoor living room and and outdoor living room. All the bedrooms have oversized top of the line quiet mini split AC units. The showers also have HOT WATER which is a rare find in homes here. Everything is brand new. Downstairs there is one bedroom with a queen bed and futon and a second bedroom with 2 queen beds and two single beds, There is also a futon in the living room. The bathroom is off of the full kitchen. The upstairs room has a separate entrance off a large deck that sits up in the trees overlooking the pool. The upstairs room has a queen bed, futon couch and a private bathroom.
Since we set this up as a retreat home you get the benefit of our amazing staff and we do not charge any extra for their services.
Our caretaker Maria Helena comes over every morning to clean the yard and pool, does the dishes and any laundry you need done (you can of course use the washer and dryer yourself if you prefer.
Jamie our cook will provide delicious meals, and afternoon snacks and smoothies for you 6 days a week. There is a separate kitchen for her (this in in addition to the kitchen in the house that you can use if you want to cook yourself) so that you have maximum privacy.
Jorge the property manager can take care of any other needs you have. He is an avid surfer and can take you to all the other great surf breaks in El Salvador. He is also a great surf instructor, and is the one who taught my young kids how to surf. He can also help you pick up groceries, fresh fish, or help plan any tours and airport pick ups or drop offs
We want to make sure your time is as carefree as possible and so everything you need is included free of charge including.
Bottled drinking water service
Use of washer and dryer and we provide laundry detergent
toilet paper
linens and towels
boogie boards for the beach
surf lessons if Jorge is available. If not we can help you arrange them but there will be a charge
cook (5 days a week)
We have one of the best pools I have seen in El Salvador complete with swim up bar and table area built into the water. There is also a propane BBQ area next to the pool
The yard is very tropical and private, yet just a 30 second walk across the street to the beach. Our family lives on the property from September-March in a separate home, so if you come during that time we would love to have you over for dinner or take you to some of our favorite places in El Salvador.

About Michael Peterson
I (Mike) and my wife Brittney bought this place 10 years ago. We have an 9 year old son and 11 year old daughter. We spend part of the year (Sept-Mar) working with different churches and missionaries in El Salvador and the rest of the year operating a seasonal business in California.
