My family and I stayed in the Mono Vista Villa a few weeks ago and it was fantastic! I contacted Jungle Creek Villas 6 or so months before our trip to Costa Rica and Paula was so helpful. She answered all of my questions quickly (sometimes only minutes after I emailed her), offered suggestions on tours which included a discount, booked a few of our tours, and was so kind - this was all before we got to CR! Once we arrived, she was just as kind and helpful. She gave us a tour of the grounds and showed us to our villa for the next four nights. The Mono Vista Villa was just as shown in the pictures - clean, well kept, and nice decor. There was a slight musty odor when we walked in but who cares. It is located in a tropical area where that is bound to happen. The dehumidifier in the bathroom helped. Paula had a nice basket on the stand for us that included a pineapple, treats, and coffee for our stay. I bought a couple bags of coffee to bring home because it was delicious. The layout was perfect for our family of four with two bedrooms with A/C that worked very well, a large kitchen, large bathroom with a lot of storage for suitcases, a few fans, and a private gated patio. The patio was perfect for eating outside, lounging around, hanging up wet clothes, etc. Our first morning at Jungle Creek, my son and I were outside looking at the wildlife around 5:30am and a group of monkeys came through the trees. It was our first sighting of monkeys. Paula was so kind and invited us up to her balcony to get a closer look. They were jumping from tree to tree and onto her roof! While we were there we saw monkeys every day, hummingbirds, two macaws that had a nest in a nearby tree, and geckos. We probably would have seen more but we were gone from 8am-6pm every day. Paula booked a few tours for us which we highly recommend - Horseback ride to Nauyaca Waterfalls, Segway Tour, and a guided tour of Manuel Antonio National Park with Paul from Manuel Antonio Expeditions. Their two dogs are perfect - they didn't bother us to pet them and rarely barked. One morning my husband and I went for a walk and they joined us. It was so cute, one of them kept looking back to see if we were coming. We also liked the pool area but didn't spend much time there because we were out and about the majority of the day. It was/would be a great way to cool off, relax, read some of the books that were on the bookcase, bbq, and chat. We highly recommend Jungle Creek Villas!
We stayed 5 nights at the Mono Vista at Jungle Creek. The owners, Paula and Clark were very helpful in suggesting places to eat and things to do. The condo was very clean and had everything we needed! I would definitely recommend this place for others. Hopefully, we will be able to return one day!
We have just returned home after a fabulous week at Jungle Creek. Jungle Creek is a quirkily-designed condo of 4 villas and we had Mono Vista, a 2 bedroom villa on the ground floor with it's own private entrance and patio. Paula was waiting to greet us on arrival and show us where everything was and how it worked. She showed us the pool area and the communal bbq and eating area and introduced us to some of the other guests. In the villa there was a welcome basket of various items including coffee (you could buy more to take home). The bedroom we chose overlooked a jungle-type garden with some huge red flowers. Sitting on the patio during the week we often watched humming birds coming to sup from these flowers. The villa was beautiful, spacious, clean and had all we needed for a week's stay. It had the added benefit of air conditioning in both bedrooms plus a couple of plug-in fans. After coming from winter in the UK, we needed the aircon and fans!! Manuel Antonio was very hot and humid. We quickly settled into a routine of getting up and out early, doing any activities or sightseeing during the morning, having a late breakfast or early lunch, then returning to the villa about 1 o'clock for a chill/siesta. We would then go out for sunset cocktails and dinner about 4:30 to 5pm before crashing into bed about 9pm. Paula and Clark were outstanding hosts, always ready to suggest suitable tours, restaurants, shops, banks โ you name it and they would find the answer for you. One of our reasons for choosing Jungle Creek over the myriad of villas and hotels on the main road from Quepos to Manuel Antonio National Park was because of its location down a side road in a jungle setting. I hoped that would make it easier to sit and spot wildlife instead of traipsing through the jungle. We saw (and heard) the scarlet macaws several times a day, also humming birds, a jesus christ lizard, a black squirrel, and a mot mot. I could hear howler monkeys in the distance in the early hours of the morning but after about the fourth day we were disappointed that we hadnt seen anything else. But boy, the last couple of days made up for it when we saw a troupe of mono titi monkeys just down the road from the villa and a mother and baby sloth. Then on our last full day there we saw another sloth and her baby up in a tree by the villa and some cappuchin monkeys made an appearance in the trees around the pool. Jungle Creek truly is a magical place which we will never forget. Thank you Paula and Clark for sharing your little bit of heaven with us. If you are considering staying in Manuel Antonio then look no further than Jungle Creek.
