You will be staying in an apartment with a little bit of history. It was originally built by a rich French general to further his career by offering residential favours to friends. After his bankruptcy at the end of the 19thC, a rich industrialist acquired the property.

You will be staying in an apartment with a little bit of history. It was originally built by a rich French general to further his career by offering residential favours to friends. After his bankruptcy at the end of the 19thC, a rich industrialist acquired the property.
His descendants still occupy about 60% of the apartments but they are riven by dissent. As the only British property owner, I can talk to both halves of the family.
We purchased the apartment from the gentleman who published the 'Asterix' children's comics.

As it so happens, our apartment is actually opposite the entrance used by the French 'spies' to access their 'Invalides' offices. Enjoy spotting the upturned collars, and the friendly greetings from the heavily armed guards.

Within 15 minutes walk you have: Les Invalides, The Rodin Museum, The Eiffel Tower, The Grand Palais, The D'Orsay Museum, The Petit Palais. A short 69 bus ride takes you to the Louvres, a similar 82 bus ride takes you to the Luxembourg Gardens.
Latour Maubourg is on metro Line 8, one stop down from Concorde on Line 1. There is a busy taxi-cab rank at the station.
