Place of very high quality. Quiet environment, very clean and comfortable. Excellent service and quick response from Gina. I highly recommend this little paradise
My husband and I have stayed at countless vacation rentals throughout the Hawaiian Islands, and Gina's condo is by far the best of them all. We arrived in the midst of hurricane panic (which fortunately did not impact Kona), and other than food, we already had everything we needed at the condo to prep for the storm. The condo is so well laid out and nicely decorated, with spectacular views from the very private lanai. We had previously stayed at the Kona Mansions complex next door (you can walk to everything in town but are set back from the Alii Drive chaos), but we were so happy to find a condo as nice as this one in such a prime location. And now that we found it, we will definitely be back to the Big Island soon!
It's Banana Boat.
We stayed here for the first time back in 2015, and have been staying here whenever we spend our vacation on the Big Island! Gina is awesome -- very prompt communication and the condo is so nicely decorated and perfectly color-coordinated :D The condo is exactly like the photos, and is very huge for two people. This year we spent the entire time on the Kona side due to the Kilauea eruption; however, we still managed to get some solid hiking and snorkeling done. We summitted Mauna Loa, hiked to Green Sands Beach, and drove up to Mauna Kea (don't try the Mauna Kea drive if you don't have a 4-wheel drive with low-range gear...), and snorkeled quite a bit at Kahalu'u Beach Park and Two-Step. The condo is well within 30min-1.5 hour driving distance from these locations. It was especially nice to be able to walk to the waterfront restaurants after a long day of outdoor activities :) There is Safeway nearby for groceries and snacks, and lots of CVS/Target-type stores in the area if you forget to pack something. We love that there is washer/dryer in the unit, as well as all of the beach accessories (towels, chairs, mats, etc). We're often too busy eating at local diners and restaurants to take full advantage of the full kitchen, but we did cook breakfasts here and there. We will definitely come back again. :) PS: Make sure to pack the sunscreen that doesn't contain oxybenzone! Try Coppertone brand :) PPS: Don't change your travel plans because of the volcano! Big Island is well, BIG!
I stayed at this wonderful place for 4 days and 3 nights in April 2018. It's conveniently located down the street from a bunch of restaurants, bars, and shops, which was nice because we didn't have to drive around and fight for parking in the shopping centers. Speaking of parking, the condo has one assigned underground parking spot with easy access to the elevators. The interior of the condo is very tastefully decorated and has two full bathrooms and a nice living room/dining room area. The bedroom is an open area but has a white curtain that can be drawn for some privacy. The condo is stocked with beach towels, dishes, utensils, beach chairs, sun screen, washer/dryer, and a bunch of other goodies. The lanai is HUGE and has comfy chairs to relax and enjoy the ocean view. We didn't get a chance to use the pool but it looked nice and clean. The owner, Gina, was quick to respond to my inquiries which helped make application process go smoothly. I would highly recommend staying here!
