With over 700 miles of rugged coastline, lakes and mountains Co Donegal has it all. Beautiful scenery for walking, cycling, horseriding or driving, watersports, angling, golfing, mountaineering or just relaxing and taking things easy, perhaps researching your Irish ancestry.
The cottage is located on the Wild Atlantic Way, between the villages of Kincasslagh (home of Daniel O'Donnell) and Annagry, just 400 yards from Bonner's Bar - an Irish bar which serves food and holds traditional music sessions throughout the summer season. Whether you turn left or right on leaving the cottage you are less than 2 miles from a beach, Carrickfinn Blue Flag beach in one direction, Mullaghdearg strand in the other. Donegal's highest mountain - Mount Errigal - and Glenveagh National park are less than a half hour drive away.
The property comprises an open plan kitchen/dining and living area with a wood burner stove in a stone fireplace. The kitchen contains all the equipment necessary for an enjoyable self catering experience, full cooker/hob, microwave oven, dishwasher and fridge. Both bedrooms (one double, one twin) are ensuite (shower, basin and wc) and are furnished with double wardrobe, bedside tables and reading lamps. A utility room off the hallway contains a washing machine, tumble dryer and a third wc.
All bedlinens, towels, electricity and oil fired central heating are included in the price. A starter pack for the wood burner is also provided. Smoke alarms and carbon monoxide alarm fitted.
The cottage is in a large fenced, lawned garden with ample off road parking.
If you are travelling to Ireland via Dublin Airport it is now possible to book Aer Lingus flights from Dublin to Carrickfinn airport, which is just five minutes from the cottage. Car hire is available.
