This was a great getaway trip for my lady and I. It was a very peaceful stay and nice place with amazing hosts.
Owner's Response: We enjoyed having you as our guests. Looking forward to you coming back again soon. Thank you for being our guests! Sandy & Mike
This is officially our new home away from home! The only downside to our trip to the Treehouse Cabin was that we couldn't move in permanently! This cabin is so cozy and inviting. The A/C and fans throughout keep it nice and cool during the summer months and they have a fireplace for the colder months that you can cuddle up next to. There are windows every direction you turn so you can look out onto the stunning landscape surrounding you. The kitchen is large and completely stocked with all you'll need to whip up a delicious meal! The upstairs patio is large and is right amongst the treetops so you can hear the sweet sound of the birds and the breeze during the day and the crickets and cicadas humming at night. It's so peaceful. Perfect spot to have a morning cup of coffee or breakfast! Below the house there is a covered patio with a grill (which we made full use of during our stay) and large picnic tables to sit at. I personally fell in love with the bench swing. The backdrop that surrounds the cabin is filled with large, beautiful trees and wildlife! Our dogs had a blast exploring the grounds and we felt safe allowing them to roam because everything is so well-kept. The river is just a short walk down the trail and it is an impressive sight! It was flowing too heavily for us to float, so instead we took some folding chairs and a few beers and snacks and sat down in a shallow spot while the river flowed beneath our feet while the dragonflies danced around us and birds flew overhead. You really have the whole place to yourself! (That's a big plus with the concern of social distancing right now, so you don't have to worry at all!) We also went and drove around the Historic District and went to a little grocery that's only about 6 mins down the road. They have everything you could need so it's convenient to have it so close. No complaints about this trip at all; It was everything we were hoping for. Country living at it's finest! We will be returning as soon as possible and for many years to come. Thank you Sandy and Mike for your kindness and hospitality!
We had a great weekend. So relaxing. The cabin has everything you need and more. The hosts are wonderful.
Amazingly memorable! I made my reservation months ago and the communication with Sandy was wonderful right from the start. The treehouse sits back down a long driveway and is very secluded. It felt like home when we walked in. It is very clean, quiet, and sits along a river with easy access. My family rented canoes, played games, and enjoyed the company of family. Not only is this treehouse amazing, it is also located in the cutest small town of Smithville (Hope Floats). My family and I ate at this wonderfully delicious restaurant called Olde World Bakery. The food was so good, we ate there more twice during our two day stay. The people were friendly and down-to-earth. We strolled through town and met more of the community at the Smithville General Store. The owner was very helpful and her shop was beautiful. We were able to find quality merchandise for a great price. There is also a cute shop, Golden Girls, where the women in our group walked out with clothing and accessories without going broke. We also managed to stop by an antique shop with great finds. This trip has left my wife loving Texas and more so, loving Smithville. We definitely will be back! Thank you Sandy for making us feel so at home and introducing us to Smithville!
We wanted a nice, secluded place away from the city for a few days before having our baby and this was perfect. We got to spend time fishing by the river, cooked together in the kitchen, and enjoyed coffee on the raised patio listening to the quiet. Everything was clean and neat. When we weren't talking about how relaxing it was, we were planning family parties as the ground patio is perfect for bbq, dancing, and games. We were close enough to Bastrop that we got to do a little shopping and stop by the movie theater, but mostly we just enjoyed our time in the cabin. Sandy is a very gracious hostess and went above and beyond to make sure we knew of activities in the area. We can't wait to go back and bring our family!
