Our 4 night stay was with 2 families comprised of 4 adults and 5 children. The cabin was spacious enough to comfortably eat, sleep, and hang out without it ever feeling crowded. Can't say enough great things about the views from the grilling area and the back porches. Pictures don't begin to show it any justice. We noticed many of the other cabin neighborhoods in the area weren't up as high on a ridge, and were much more packed in. Above the Clouds is the last cabin of 8 on the ridge, which makes it feel very secluded. Be prepared to drive up a fairly steep switchback to make it to the top. Very dark at night, but well maintained paved road the whole way up. The kids loved the playground and walking on the private boardwalk to the shared pool. Connie was a fantastic host, easy to communicate with, and very informative before and throughout the stay. While there, we spent most of our days floating the river, white water rafting, or hiking in the park to some special waterfalls. Townsend and Wears Valley were fun to tour as the Pigeon Forge area was a little too crowded and touristy for us. This was our first time traveling to the TN/Smoky Mtn area, and we will be back!!
Owner's Response: We're so happy that your first trip to this wonderful area was so excellent. We agree that Wears Valley, the Park, and forays to Townsend are the best!
Owner's Response: So glad that your first trip to our area was excellent! We agree that the best spots are on our ridge, in the Park, Wears Valley, and Townsend. The peaceful side of the Smokies!
Our visit consisted of my husband and me, our small dog, our son, daughter-in-law and granddaughter. Because of covid, we didn't venture off the property. I was afraid the kids would get bored. But between the pool table, hot tub, yard, swing set, and amazing deck, the days flew by. There is ample space for everyone. Furniture is comfortable, and the cabin was clean. We brought our corn hole game and took advantage of the nice yard. I took the dog on peaceful neighborhood walks. We grilled, cooked easy meals, and simply enjoyed each other's company. I'm saving the best for last: The view is inspiring. It's wide open, panoramic, you can see for miles. The covered deck must be the best place in Wears Valley. We sat for hours on the deck watching distant storm clouds and birds. It was magical. We also loved relaxing in the hot tub while taking in the view. I can't wait to go back!
Owner's Response: We can't wait to have you back! Those who want to seclude at the cabin is our ideal guest profile.
Due to a disabling accident a member of our family requires grab bars for personal hygiene and flat surfaces for a wheel-chair while still enjoying family activities as much as possible. This cabin allowed that to happen along with the extended family and a dear pet. The lower ramp which connects to the pool walk-way and past other cabins helps to keep one in the midst of the family activities. The amenities in the cabin made it a desirable place for hanging out. The provided directions for hiking to the top of the mountain/Smoky Mtn. National Park boundary enabled two family members to take the designated trail in the park to the Laurel Falls and then proceed beyond the falls and over the mountain back to the cabin. A feat they will always remember. We were blessed with excellent weather, a 2-hour firework display from the valley below on the evening of the fourth and excellent accomodations.
Everything about this stay was just amazing! The views are breathtaking and the cabin was so cozy! Connie is also an amazing host! We had an issue while staying at the cabin (not related to the cabin) and she, along with the maintenance man Gene, helped us out immensely! We donโt know what we would have done without them. Definitely would visit again and recommend to all my friends!
This cabin is truly amazing and we are already looking forward to a return trip. We were looking forward to all of our family enjoying Dollywood but it turned out that after we got to Dollywood everybody wanted to go back to the cabin to enjoy just being together. The cabin was very clean and had everything we needed. The hand carved main support beam is worth the trip just to see it. Thank you so much for allowing to stay at this wonderful. Are only complaint is that we did not stay near long enough.
