The Red House River Cabin is 1550 luxury square feet and approximately 200 feet from the West Branch of the Delaware River. It sits directly in front of one of the best wild trout fishing holes in the Northeast.

The Red House River Cabin is 1550 luxury square feet and approximately 200 feet from the West Branch of the Delaware River. It sits directly in front of one of the best wild trout fishing holes in the Northeast.
The cabin comes with a fully equipped kitchen with stainless steel appliances and newly renovated open floor plan with living room with cable TV, and Internet - great for entertaining. We are always making improvements to our property and last season's project included two completely renovated, gorgeous bathrooms. Reflecting our pride of ownership, this season's renovations feature a brand new kitchen with a new Frigidaire Gallery 5 burner gas convection range. Other new appliances include a brand new dishwasher and microwave.
The Red House River Cabin is beautiful and comfortable for fishermen as well as non-fishing people. The Red House River Cabin has a covered porch and a 600 sq.ft. deck with patio furniture for outdoor entertaining. Perfect for family get-togethers, couples rendezvous or romantic get-away. Enjoy a private, secluded setting with friends, business people or by yourself for some 'R&R.' Golf courses are within minutes, 3 ski areas are within one hour and a state park with a swimming beach is 15 minutes away. Mountain biking trails nearby or you can bring your canoe or kayak and launch down the road. Come to fish or to relax. Enjoy.
Fishing the Upper Delaware: The Upper Delaware is some of the best dry fly fishing in the East. Serious hatches begin in April with the Hendrickson, Quills, and evolve into the hatches of March Browns and Sulphurs in May. The last few years I have fished sulfur patterns from May until September. Of course, you can always count on various doses of caddis and blue winged olives throughout the season and of course the mysterious tricos on misty summer mornings. There are plenty of riffles and braids to try your favorite nymphs as well. When the water is a little higher, don't be afraid the bang the banks with big streamers whether you are wading or in a boat. The River Cabin is across from the Gentleman's Pool access, canoes can be launched here too. Stilesville and Indian Country drift boat launches are each within about two miles.
Other Activities: Golf, skiing, hunting, and general outdoor pursuits are all within short driving distances. Oquaga State Park is within 6 miles and includes a beach, golf, hiking, and fishing. Other golf courses include the Hancock Golf Course and French Woods about 14 and 20 miles respectively. Elk Mountain skiing is 34 miles, Hunter and Windham are each about 95 miles. As the gateway to the Catskill Mountains and Delaware River Valley you are in the perfect area to explore small towns, hike mountains, and simply get lost! There are several spas in PA and NYS within 30 to 40 miles. Be sure to look for the nesting bald eagles across the street!

Why This Property?
We had another property, the original Red House. It began to rent out so much that my husband had no where to fish, so we bought this property, the Red House River Cabin, back in 2009. We had another property, the original Red House. It began to rent out so much that my husband had no where to fish, so we bought this property, the Red House River Cabin, back in 2009. While it met our purposes, we immediately set out to make this property our own by steadily making improvements. 2015's project was two completely renovated bathrooms and an open floor plan between kitchen and living room. 2016's project is a brand new kitchen!! We are very excited to hear the feedback from our repeat guests (all of our May and June guests are repeat guests whom we consider friends) and our new guests!
Unique Benefits
We love the fact that the Red House River Cabin sits back far from the road and is secluded without being far from town. It is bordered by cornfields on the backside and just really gives the cabin even more privacy. The other reason why it is so great is because it is on the no-kill section of the West Branch of the Delaware River. This is world class fly fishing at its best!
