This secluded home surrounded by woods built in 2001, offers privacy and quiet surroundings.Satellite TV with local channels and WiFi are available. There are three roomy bedrooms (one bedroom is on the first floor, house itself sleeps seven) plus an efficiency apartment (only rented in conjunction with the house, rates posted are for house only) to accommodate four additional people. There are full baths on the first and second floors, bathroom/shower with the efficiency. The whirlpool tub in the master bath is a relief for those tired limbs after a long hike or bike ride.
The property is close to walking trails, waterfall, swimming hole (for those hot summer days) and freshwater lake is nearby as well. The home has lots of windows for plenty of natural light streaming through. The dining room can accommodate up to 12 people comfortably (for that lobster dinner!) A granite fireplace lends a nice heat for those cool evenings. The 8' x 34' covered porch is great for reading, grilling out or enjoying your morning coffee.

Our family of 10 stayed at the lovely Brewer home for a week in July & August. We traveled from California to Bar Harbor to attend a family reunion. We enjoyed hiking and site-seeing in Acacia National Park, eating out at some great restaurants, shopping in Bar Harbor, swimming several times in a nearby pond, and of course memorable times at our family reunion nearby. Our 4 young teenagers especially enjoyed their privacy in the downstairs apartment, watching a movie with pizza at the "Reel Pizza Cinerama" downtown in B.H. and experiencing their first popovers on the lawn at Jordon Pond in ANP. The Brewer house was definitely as described on its website. My favorite amenities were the wonderful professional stove in the kitchen, lots of available cooking utensils & spices, etc. and the large dining table where we had several family dinners and breakfasts. I would highly recommend Meredith's home especially for families.
h B. - A diamond in the rough 5 of 5 The Brewer Home was well beyond my expectations.A clean well decorated country style home deep in the woods on Mount desert isle.My wife could not get over the large kitchen with the best of everything in it.We spent a lot of time in front of the fireplace as well as evenings on the deck over looking the woods in full color.We met the owner while we were there and she was a very charming lady.Do not pass up the chance to stay at this great home.
This is our fourth stay at this home, everything has been thought of to make our time here perfect. We highly recommend this home to anyone looking for a special vacation with privacy. The kitchen is well equipped for cooking for a large family. The home is clean, spacious and we especially enjoy morning coffee on the porch. We are already vacationing a week before we arrive, so the washer and dryer is a bonus. Although we don't use it, the fireplace is impressive. Special thanks to Meredith for her hospitality and knowledge of the area. She is available and helpful.
Meredith's home is fantastic! Nestled in the woods (but still easy to find), we enjoyed walking on the nearby trails. The house was immaculately clean, and had everything we needed: plenty of towels, laundry facilities, comfy beds and linens, and a fully stocked kitchen. We spent most of our time in Acadia National Park (an easy 15 minute drive) and Bar Harbor (also an easy 15 minute drive). Meredith gave us some recommendations for restaurants and a kayaking company. Everything in the home description was accurate. Meredith was communicative and responsive in the months leading up to our visit. We would absolutely stay here again and would highly recommend this property to others!
We spent Memorial Day weekend at this property and in every aspect the property, the location and specially the owner far exceeded our expectations. It was a wonderful time spent with family, and we look forward to going back up again next year. The home is extremely cozy and beautiful and very comfortable and the owner could not have been nicer to make our stay in Bar Harbor our best experience to date. This property is truly recommended to everyone.
