My husband Mike and I are both outdoor enthusiasts and enjoy hiking, cross country skiing, and kayaking near our beautiful cabin in South Lake Tahoe. Mary retired from a 27 year career with California State Parks in 2015 and Mike hopes to retire from Department of Finance in a few years, and we intend to spend much of our retirement years in South Lake Tahoe. Meanwhile, it gives us great pleasure to share our home, and we do everything we can to make you feel welcome and comfortable. We have been sharing our home since 2004, and have listened closely to our guests over the years to try to make the cabin as comfortable as possible by having everything available that you might need such as a coffee grinder, a meat thermometer, a wide variety of herbs and spices, lots of extra blankets, cleaning products and supplies available that you can use. Our cabin is a labor of love and we look forward to having you as our guests.

We purchased in the Tahoe Island Park location because it is quiet and peaceful, convenient to the City of South Lake Tahoe, grocery shopping, activities at the Casinos and the ski resorts, yet away from the Highway 50 congestion. The location is within a couple of blocks from access to the bike trail that winds around the southwest shore of Lake Tahoe and just a mile and a half from the best beaches along the southwest shore including Pope Beach, Camp Richardson, Talac Historic Sites, Kiva Beach and Baldwin Beach. Families love the stream profile at the Taylor Creek Visitor Center. Equally close are Kiva Beach and Fallen Leaf lake which are great dog friendly areas, and just a three mile drive from us. We are just seven miles from breathtaking views of Emerald Bay, and the trailheads of Desolation Wilderness. We are just five miles from Heavenly Ski Resort and Stateliness, and 12 miles from Sierra at Tahoe. Shuttles to the two resorts are just a half mile away at the "Y" near Raley's.
Also close are trailheads along Highway 88, including Big Meadow, Dardanelles Lake, and great Cross Country skiing at Hope Valley. Take an easy hike to Angora Lake for a great family friendly day.
Whatever your activity, our cabin is a great basecamp in any season.
