When Brian and I first got married we always wanted to buy a cottage and especially one "up north." We LOVE summers AND winters in Michigan's beautiful northern country. Great place that handled our family well. Beautiful view on the deck. The lake was refreshing for swimming. We had the best time fishing. The week we were there was super hot and we wished for a little ac. But other than the heat at night, we loved the place.

The house is very welcoming - comfortable living room, well-equipped kitchen, and ample sleeping space. Everything worked, which is not always the case with a summer rental. Our six-year-old grandson said that he loved "our cabin" and did not want to go home. The kayak got plenty of use from our daughters. Proximity to nearby towns helped, too. Cindy and Brian were excellent hosts, checking in to make sure we had arrived and were happy with their home.

Highly recommend this quaint lake house! It's tastefully decorated and well stocked. Our favorite was the huge wrap around deck and the stunning views! The kids spend hours swimming out to the swim raft- jumping off over and over again! The water is clear and clean and the dock is a great option. You can sit down there and just reveal in the peace and quiet! A great distance away from Grand Rapids- and perfect location near ludington if you want the summer cottage town! We loved it and will def be back again!

Welcome to northern Michigan! We are so happy to offer you this beautiful property on the premier part of beautiful Crystal Lake. Crystal Lake is an all sports lake located just minutes from downtown Ludington. We are confident that your stay will be enjoyable because first and foremost the natural surroundings are breathtaking. You can enjoy your morning coffee or family dinner on the large, wrap around deck over-looking the water. (There are two gates on the deck so that younger ones can run around freely.) You can go down to the lakefront which is just steps away and enjoy swimming in the sandy bottom lake, taking a kayak ride (3 kayaks included), fishing in the row boat (included) or just relaxing in a lounge chair reading a good book while your toes dangle in the warm water.

We have worked hard at making the house a comfortable and inviting place for your family too. You will find a well-stocked, modern kitchen with all the amenities. The dining area easily fits 10 people, and the upper living room has very comfortable furniture and a flat screen tv with satellite. The basement living room is well furnished as well and is fully stocked with games, puzzles, books, magazines, and even children's books and toys. There is also another large flat screen tv with a dvd. This is a great place for the kids to hang out with each other.

When we have rented vacation properties, we have appreciated when the owners have invested in comfortable beds and good quality linens. Therefore, we have done the same in this property. We have tried to pay attention to details so that this will feel like your own home away from home.

The layout of the home is as follows: Top floor has a large front family room and eating area over looking the lake. Master bedroom with queen bed and totally rebuilt master bathroom, 2nd bedroom with two twins plus one trundle, full bathroom, kitchen, entry with laundry and breakfast nook. The lower level has a large family room / game room, bedroom with queen bed, bunk beds and a twin bed, 2nd rec room area with TV / DVD and plenty of seating.

Crystal Lake is a unique find. It is much quieter and much less expensive than Hamlin Lake. Yet it is just as close if not closer to destinations like: downtown Ludington, Manistee, and Pentwater.

Not only is the home located on one of the most beautiful spots on Hackert (Crystal) Lake but also our home is located in one of the most desirable locations in Michigan! You can enjoy all the benefits of an inland, all sports lake like boating, fishing, kayaking, and swimming. And, unlike larger more populated inland lakes (like nearby Hamlin lake), you can be guaranteed plenty of peace and serenity to enjoy your morning coffee on the large deck or a cozy campfire down by the lake.
