Our gite is the perfect place for a peaceful relaxing holiday, yet with lots to do in the surrounding areas. It's a spacious & lovely place to stay for a short while or a longer period of time, making it also an ideal base for property hunting. It's light, bright, clean, peaceful & cosy. Modern with a vintage touch. It has garden views over the beautiful French countryside. The incredible big skies are perfect for night time star-gazing. Great for couples, solo adventurers, and families alike.
The space -
Ideal for a relaxing holiday or base for property hunting. Located in the peaceful village of Lignè which is surrounded by fields of sunflowers, Cognac vineyards and local seasonal crops. Our gite is bright with a large open plan living room, dining area & kitchen. This leads to the main bedroom then into the bathroom/shower room.
You'll have use of a BBQ and a dedicated seating area with table and chairs.
The market towns of Aigre & Mansle are only ten minutes drive both have supermarkets & you also have the larger town of Ruffec seventeen minutes away, again a market town with a large Supermarket & all amenities. They all have bars, restaurants and a twice weekly local fresh food markets.
If you are property hunting, you are ideally situated to search in the Poiteu-Charente (Charente, Charente-Maritime, Vienne, Deux-Sevres departements) & also Limoges. Fifteen minutes drive from the RN10, the main route between Poitiers and Angouleme. With four international airports within a two hour drive, Poiteurs, Limoges, La Rochelle & Bordeux. The railway station at Luxe is only five minutes away with trains to Angouleme & Bordeaux & the larger station at Ruffec with trains to Poiteurs & on to Paris.

The neighbourhood -
Lignè is a very quiet village, with Marie, church, Cognac distillery with tours throughout the year & the historic 'Cemetery of the Knights' which contains 70 tombstones of the Knights Templar, from the Crusades. In the middle of the cemetery, you can still see the base of an ancient lantern replaced in 1654 by a Hosanna Cross . The enchanting village of Tusson is next to us & boasts one of the best restaurants in the area as well as a bar, tabac, brocante, delicatessen specialising in local produce, small art galleries/workshops & tourist office.
Getting around -
You can cycle to the local villages, Tusson, Charmè, Luxè (with train station), Mansle & Aigrè but you will need a car to to get groceries, explore further afield & make the most of the surrounding area.

We can be flexible on your check in & check out times as long as we don't have other guest arriving or leaving on the same days. As with anything just email us beforehand & we can let you know.
