As the snow piles up outside you can relax and count on reliable winter maintenance to plow as often as needed. With the best snow in the east and an average of 30+ powder days, enjoy downhill skiing, boarding, or cross-country at Jay Peak Ski Resort which is the second highest peak in Vermont. It is located less than seven scenic miles away. Oh yeah and Jay Peak has the only indoor water-park open all year! A full-size waterpark called the PUMP HOUSE is open with a lazy river, a handful of waterslides including a Six Flags-style Aqualoop, and a surfable indoor wave. Your Jay home is the homiest home we have ever rented. Everything was so inviting, soft, clean, organized, scenic, well-decorated... It was just like home. I loved the gate at the top of the stairs on the deck; what a great way to keep pets and children happy. We even did our yoga routine on the deck; it was so peaceful. The views, day and night, rain or shine, were fantastic...breathtaking! We could see for miles and miles. If I had to describe our stay in one word, I would choose TRANQUIL. We were surrounded by tranquility. Thank you for sharing your home with us.

For a summer retreat, The Mountainview Trailhouse lives up to its name being less than a mile from the trailhead of the infamous Long Trail. Or if you prefer, The Appalachian Trail is not far either. You can also cool off at the local swimming hole, complete with rope swing, only a short five-minute drive from the house! Or take a 20-minute trip into Newport to Lake Memphremagog for sailing, jet skiing, boating, or relaxing.
For autumn, there is no better place to book your trip. Perfect for leaf peepers or your private romantic getaway. There are endless miles of scenic drives in NEK. Although you will find you do not need to go far. We have covered bridges, beautiful country landscapes, and rustic barns all within a five-minute drive. It is truly one of the last untouched gems in Vermont. The Jay Peak area is full of activities and beautiful scenery in every season.

Our constant goal while owning this house is to create a comfortable and affordable home that we hoped to find when went on vacations. Now that we are just about done with the work, I doubt we will be going anywhere else. We really love our house and hope you will to. This is not a worn down rental house, we like to call it VACATION HOME.

There are so many covered bridges, scenic drives and swimming holes within a few miles. Great hiking on easily accessible trails right from the front door. Skiing at Jay Peak!! We also love the quiet, peaceful surroundings of our secluded property although it is only 6.5 miles to the mountain.

We had a great time despite the -20 degree temps. Very comfortable rustic setting with great views. Too cold to use outdoor spa. Would go back.

Our crew had an awesome time staying at Mike and Doreen's beautiful home. A few of the highlights: It is only about a 10-15 minute ride to Jay (an awesome mountain); the view from the house of the mountains are breathtaking (not to mention when you sit out in the jacuzzi and surround yourself with that view); the pool table and foosball table provided hours of entertainment; the house was clean, fully equipped and very comfortable for our large group (there was even enough room for us all to sit together for dinner and to watch TV); and, last but certainly not least, Mike was an excellent host. He was extremely responsive to all of our questions, and it was obvious that he genuinely seeks to provide his guests with the best experience possible. We will definitely be back.

Had a great stay overall at this house. We had a problem while we were there but the owner Michael rectified it. He was always available by phone for any issues. Its a nice big place so good for many people. Got a nice open kitchen and nice high dining room table that seats 12. The gas fireplace was great upon returning from skiing as were the very comfortable lazy boy chairs. The main floor is a huge open layout setup. The pictures really don't do it justice. Its only a short drive from Jay and a great spot to stay!

Our annual trip to the Mtn. View Trailhouse was excellent as always. The owners are always improving their property and certainly treat it like it is their day-to-day house. This year, the weather didn't cooperate with us because of a very rare February rain storm the day before we arrived. The skiing wasn't ideal but that didn't stop us from having a great time. There is plenty to do at the house, around the property, and at the mountain so no matter the conditions, anytime is a good time to stay at the Mtn. View Trailhouse. See you again next year... Recommended for: Families with Young Children, Pet-friendly, Sightseeing, Girls Getaway, Adventure Seekers, Age 55+, Romantic Getaway, Families with Teenagers

Hot Tub, Surround Sound, and OUTSTANDING Customer Service!!

Après-ski is always better with a hot tub. It's even better when the hot tub looks out to a beautiful Vermont landscape, blanketed in white snow. Returning indoors (post hot tub) to a well-kept house with countless amenities (i.e. - Pool, darts, surround sound, etc.) makes you appreciate how much effort was put into designing this perfect getaway. The owners were very hospitable and had a drop-everything type response if I ever had any questions or concerns. I highly recommend this house for larger groups or families. We hope to return in 2017!
