This secluded custom-built Hill Country Home & Historic Cabin are located on a wooded 1-acre lot, in the Historic Gruene District, on a 140-foot span of the Guadalupe Riverbank.
Over 100 feet of deck/patio space are available with the large upstairs deck, and an equally large downstairs patio, both of which overlook the Guadalupe River with an unobstructed view of the opposing riverbank and undeveloped limestone cliffs. The yard is shaded by huge Cypress and Pecan trees, and is perfect for outdoor gatherings, especially with the group seating areas and the large stone fire ring.
The upper level includes two bedrooms, the huge Great Room, the large fully furnished kitchen, and the Recreation/Game Room which also contains a Queen Futon and half-bathroom. The large Master Bedroom has a private full Bathroom, and will accommodate up to 5, with the King-Size bed, and 2-Twin beds in the form of a pop-up Trundle as well as an additional Twin bed. The second upstairs bedroom has a Queen-size bed. The Great Room has vast expanses of River Views, and is open to the kitchen containing the shared fireplace. Additionally, 2 can be accommodated in the Great Room, by using 2 large sofas as sleepers.
The downstairs has 3 bedrooms. 2 of the bedrooms will accommodate up to 4, each with a King-Size Bed and a pop-up Trundle, and an additional Twin bed. These also have private full bathrooms, and sweeping views of the River. The center downstairs bedroom will accommodate up to 4, with 2-Bunk Beds, and 2-Twin beds in the form of a pop-up Trundle. There are additionally 4 roll-away beds that can be placed anywhere as needed.
The detached Rustic Cabin can accommodate 2, with a King-Size Bed and a private full bathroom. The cabin also has it's own private deck, 10-foot rustic cedar-stay privacy fence, seating areas, and it's own private River View and wooded yard.
The property can easily accommodate 7 couples in private bedrooms, and can accommodate an additional 14 people, for larger family/group outings.

Me and 19 of my closest friends from high school get together every year for a weekend whereas we eat like kings, drink like fishes and lie like dogs. This house we have stayed at 5 of the 7 years now. We consider it home as it really feels like we are at home. We have never wanted for anything at all. Chris does a great job of keeping the house well stocked and it is always clean. If you have a very large group and you want everyone in one house this is the place and I know I have tried other places and I have looked for other places that are this nice... they don't exists! The 2 years we didn't stay here was because we couldn't get the dates we wanted by January. If you want Summer dates you better book in December! Great house, great host.
We rented this house for a guys trip with several of my coworkers. Perfect location on the river. Great place to just sit back and relax and enjoy the sound of the river and wildlife. We took advantage of the tubes provided and just sat in the water all day! Fire pit was perfect at night to sit around and tell jokes and stories. Would definitely recommend to anyone with a large group looking for plenty of space and an all around good time.
Our family of 12 were completely in love with the house and its amenities. We try to get away every 2 years together. None of the kids had ever done tubing or been on the river so this was ideal. The kayaks and floats were an absolute hit with everyone. The house was so roomy we could spread out and get out of each others way when needed. It is always a question as to how the beds will be but we were all so happy with them, no complaints at bedtime. The well stocked kitchen with everything labeled made cooking and cleaning so easy. We loved to barbecue outside and have marshmallow roasts at the fire pit. The old and young alike relaxed on the large deck to watch the wildlife right in the back yard. The quiet surroundings and the closeness to Gruene, and New Braunfels was ideal. We have already said we need to come back and I know we will. We did not get to do everything we wanted to or to see everything either. Thanks for keeping this house so family oriented no matter what age you are. WE LOVED IT!
