I felt in love with Troncones during my first visit in 1993. When I met Anne Lapointe, another French Canadian who had been living in Zihuatanejo for 10 years, we became instant friends. In 1995, with another friend, Louise-Marie Côté, we decided to buy on the beach. We bought two lots from a Mexican family. On the first lot, we renovated the existing house, which was completed in 1996. On the other lot we built a pool and we opened a bar and a restaurant – The Tropic of Cancer. In 2000 we built Santa Benita and in 2003, we built Casa de Eva. In 2004 Anita and I bought back Louise-Marie’s shares. After a long illness, Anita passed away in 2009 and I closed the bar and the restaurant. I am now the only owner of the Tropic of Cancer compound.
