“Northstar” is a snow lover’s dream. This 4-bedroom, 3-1/2-bathroom home south of Blue River has history and charm to provide the most unique of vacations. Equipped for fun in summer and winter months, one of the most endearing features of this property is the outdoor space it provides—complete with a swing set and a pergola to enjoy the fully landscaped surrounding land in summer months. In addition to the space, there are plenty of outdoor games for the guest’s enjoyment; badminton, croquet and horseshoes are a few of the recreational activities to keep all ages entertained. The house sits atop a hill, with views of Northstar Peak. Next to the house is our sledding hill.
There is parking for 5 cars. Maximum occupancy is 4 people. There are 6 extra beds.
Within 10 minutes is world class fishing in the Blue River or South Platte River, alpine and Nordic skiing, golf and the town of Breckenridge. This property stays quiet during all months of the year, but still provides close access to all the recreation Colorado has to offer.
Inside this home awaits a spacious kitchen which opens to a living room/library with a real wood-burning fireplace, so even while cooking everyone’s company can be enjoyed. Move to the living room after cocoa in front of the fire, and a wall of books and flat screen TV provide entertainment for all while vacationing in this rustically-elegant cabin. Outside is a 400 square foot deck with a gas grill and views of Northstar Mountain and the wooded area which surrounds the property. If you’re lucky, you just might see some wildlife stroll by. Adjacent to the library/living rooms is the master bedroom, with a beautiful 100 year old stained-glass window made from colored glasses, beveled glass, jewel glass, and bottle bottom glass. This bedroom has a King-size bed.
Downstairs, there are three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a laundry room. The north bedroom has a queen size bed, two bunk beds, and a 'Baby Bear' wood burning stove. The south bedroom has a queen bed and its own bathroom. The middle bedroom has a queen bed, also.
Atop the garage is our ping pong room with its own TV and stereo for those who want to play or just get away. It's a big, beautiful room with a ping pong table, and lots of puzzles.
Breckenridge Ski Resort is only 10 minutes away, Copper Mountain is only 25 minutes away, and Keystone and Arapaho Basin are both 30 minutes away. This property is nestled in just the right place to take advantage of recreation all over the county, during all seasons of the year, while also being conducive to activities right where the property sits. The quintessential Colorado vacation awaits you.
