My husband retired in 2019 as Tax Director at Northern Trust in Chicago. I’ve recently retired after spending several years working for a medical practice.
In 2008, after our sons finished college, we decided to search for a vacation home, something we had dreamed about over the years. A place our family would enjoy vacationing which offered a wide variety of activities keeping everyone’s interests.
On our first trip to Hilton Head, we fell in love with the Palmetto Dunes area. It had everything we could possibly want in a vacation get-away.
We've made several trips since that time and couldn’t be happier.
We look forward to spending many years ahead relaxing and enjoying Hilton Head with friends and family and now have our first grandchild to enjoy Hilton Head as well!

Palmetto Dunes is centrally located on the island and offers, golf, tennis, fishing, biking, shopping, dining and entertainment. Kayak down the 11 mile lagoon, or enjoy taking a walk on one of the many trails. This lovely oceanfront plantation is beautiful throughout.
Above all, Palmetto Dune’s hidden gem is the beach itself. This beautiful quiet beach is extremely wide and you'll find plenty of room to make your own. It's one of the few beaches where bike riding is an experience to remember.
I like this Plantation because it’s not only pretty but also has easy access to the main road (Rt 278), which makes it very convenient. Shelter Cove directly across from Palmetto Dune’s entrance, offers a marina, additional dining and entertainment. They have fireworks on Tuesday evening throughout the summer.
What makes this villa unique-
We selected Barrington Arms because we truly feel we’re staying in a tropical resort. We love the fact that everywhere we look there is something new and different to see. Barrington has done a wonderful job landscaping the property. All of the little lagoons, waterfalls, gardens add so much. Not only are the views beautiful but having the beach so close by makes everything perfect.

Another amazing week at 108 Barrington. This was our 6th year in a row staying here and we are already looking forward to next year. The villa is immaculate and the views are incredible. You couldn’t ask for better hosts than Laura and Bruce. This is definitely the place to stay if you are heading to HHI. It has all the amenities you would ever need and the beach chairs are a big plus. I wish I could give this a higher rating because 5 stars are not enough. Thanks again Laura and Bruce.

We had a great time at 108 Barrington Arms! The condo was clean, nicely decorated, and fully furnished with everything we needed during our stay. There was a nice view from the balcony with table/chairs and two rockers. The owners were super accommodating and went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed during our stay, as well and restaurant and activity recommendations. Look forward to staying at 108 Barrington Arms and Palmetto Dunes again soon!

Great first trip to Hilton Head. Couldn't have asked for better accommodations. 1st floor end unit just up 2 small lights of stairs or elevator ride, updated design and all of the amenities you could need. Located just a short walk across the dune to the beach if you're looking for easy beach access this is the unit for you. Laura was a perfect host and provided lots of great recommendations before we even arrived and checked in to make sure our stay was going well. I can see why they have many repeat renters, we would definitely book this unit again if we return to the island.

Another great stay at 108 Barrington. This was our 5th consecutive year staying here. Laura and Bruce are wonderful owners and go out of their way to make sure you have a great experience. Their unit is immaculate and has all the amenities you would ever need. The views from the balcony are amazing. We love this place and love HHI. The weather was absolutely gorgeous during our stay. We are already looking forward to next year. Thanks again Laura and Bruce.

I have been down to Hilton Head several times in the past and usually stay in Shipyard. I decided to try Palmetto Dunes and must say it's now my favorite! The condo has everything you need and very comfortable furnishings from the King bed to the living room furniture. We made it down to the Pickleball courts almost everyday and also played on 2 of the 3 golf courses in Palmetto Dunes. Being right on the beach was just a bonus! Laura checked on us to make sure everything was going okay and the Management Company also seemed very easy to get ahold of for guest passes. Can't wait to go back!
