Deposits are not refundable if Renter cancels the reservation within sixty days prior to the Check-In Date. Deposits for reservations during the summer period (June 15 and including September 15) are not refundable if cancellation occurs less than 60 days prior to arrival. All cancellations are subject to a cancellation fee of $500.00.

Why This Property?

My grandmother, my mother and myself along with my 3 younger sisters and our children have all grown up spending summers in Linden Hills. It's always been my happiest place on Earth and thank goodness my husband Tom agreed with that so after years of savings, in 2007 we finally built this house on top of a dune in Linden Hills. We designed this home and had it built to accommodate our extended family. The land has been in our family for over 125 years and we wanted to be sure our sisters and brothers, children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews would all have the opportunity to spend some of their summers on the shores of Lake Michigan. Once the 2 year project of designing and building the house was completed we decided to share our home with other families so they too could enjoy Linden Hills and all it has to offer. And of course, as a side benefit, it helps financially for Tom and I, as retirees, to be able to maintain the home and property. Our family also owns the property across the street from the house so that allows our guests extra parking to accommodate 3 vehicles over there plus the garage, driveway and a spot in front making it easy to unload suitcases and supplies. Because this is our home and not just a rental property, we have the house ready to walk into and enjoy. The only thing our guests need to bring are their clothes and food. We have the cupboards stocked with about everything one could need. The house is fully stocked with spices and most condiments you'll need for that perfect family meal. Because we have grandchildren, we also have two pack n plays, baby monitor, potty chair, hi chair, booster chair, lots of toys for all ages. We even have a sand box in the backyard. We have all kinds of beach toys including some inflatables and life jackets for infants to adults. We have all sizes of tennis rackets and several basketballs that can be used at the tennis courts and basketball goal which is just around the corner.

Unique Benefits

Linden Hills’ private beach, boardwalks, bridges and roads are maintained by our resident caretaker. The lake and our association’s private beach is located behind the house with wooded dunes between us and the beach. We had a truly fabulous family vacation at Linda and Tom's incredible home. You felt like you were living in a forest with black squirrels, red fox, deer, chipmunks and resting hummingbirds in their terraced backyard. We had nightly fires complete with smores and games. We cooked both inside and outside. The house was so spacious with more than enough room for our family of 12. Many great family meals were shared in their lovely dining room and kitchen. Everything you could think of was provided, including spices and coffee. We actually went home with clean clothes thanks to the laundry facilities. This does not look or feel like a rental home, as it had so many homey touches. The property is beautifully maintained with high end finishes. Some days trips to St Joe's Kids Museum, Robotic Dairy, Farmer's Market and South Haven North Beach were delightful and informative Our family ranged in age from 6-87, and ALL had a superb time. Would highly recommend this gorgeous property for any family gathering

Great home and it meet all of our needs for our family. We especially liked the big kitchen where several people could work at the same time without hindering each others food preparation. It was also nice that the home had 3 floors so the smaller children could take naps and not be bothered by the noise of others in the house. The beach was a plus too as it was only a short 5 minute walk. We will be back.

We absolutely loved our stay here in Covert! The home and property are gorgeous. We saw deer, fox, black squirrels and hummingbirds everyday. The private beach was beautiful too. The home was equipped with everything our family of 10 needed- plenty of seating (indoors and out), linens, games, beach towels & supplies, laundry facilities, paper goods and everything we needed to cook for a large group. We had no little ones with us this time but they are all stocked for kids and babies, too! Our favorite vacations are in Michigan and I would highly recommend this lovely home!!

We are located 5 miles south of the harbor town of South Haven on Lake Michigan off the Blue Star Hwy. Our resort association is called Linden Hills, a 125-year-old community of 50 homes and cottages hidden in a heavily treed area of the critical dunes. Linden Hills has 1600 linear feet of private shore line with a beautiful white sandy beach. The nightly sunsets are something to behold and can be viewed from one of the association's 4 seated lookouts or from our beautiful beach. The beach is a 3 minute walk from the house.

The house itself has 4 bedrooms and 3 ½ baths allowing our guests multiple choices for sleeping. The master bedroom has a king size bed with an en suite bath. Each of the other 3 bedrooms have a queen size bed and two also have twin beds.

One of the upstairs bedrooms also has a dormer with a built-in twin sized daybed with a bed rail available so the bed can be used for small children. The room also has a baby room, with a pack n play, inside one of the two walk-in closets. The other 2nd floor bedroom has a new twin bed in addition to the queen bed. All bedrooms have wall-mounted plasma HGTV's and satellite reception and DVD players.

The family room can be used as a 5th bedroom as it has a sectional with a queen size sleeper which has a brand new pillow top mattress elevating the mattress to the height of a ‘normal’ queen bed. There is an inflatable queen Aero bed or two twin inflatable beds that can be put in there for extra sleeping capacity.    This level also has it's own coffee/wine bar with a microwave and mini refrigerator.

We do have a second pack n play available in one of the walk in closets in the downstairs bedroom; as well as, baby monitor, potty chair, high chairs, booster chair, bouncy chair, etc. Lots of toys and games for all ages but the house is pretty well setup for babies and toddlers.

The two upstairs bedrooms share a bath with soaker tub/shower. The master suite has a slate spa shower complete with 4 body sprays and personal shower; heated travertine floor and heated towel racks are in the three full bathrooms. The main floor also has a conveniently located powder room. The bathroom in the walkout level also has a heated floor and heated towel racks.

Besides the custom granite countertops, our kitchen has been furnished with top of the line professional series KitchenAid appliances including a 48” 6 burner cook top with a double grill, pot filler, double ovens with top oven being a convection oven, automatic ice maker that makes 50 lbs. of fresh ice each day, trash compactor, dishwasher, French door refrigerator, refreshment center, wine cooler and microwave. Whirlpool energy efficient Duet washer and dryer are located in the laundry room adjacent to the kitchen.

Aside from the eating nook in the kitchen table seating for 8 and a breakfast bar that seats 4, we also have a formal dining room with seating for 10 to 12 people.

Just off the kitchen is a small deck with a few steps down to a new Weber Gas Grill and a slate patio with an umbrella table with seating for 4. The lower slate deck has another umbrella dining table for 6 people and there's a large picnic table that seats 8.

The backyard lower slate patio has multiple seating options and also has a sunken wood burning fire pit. This area is surrounded by party lights and tiki torches to add to the family fun outside in the evenings. In case of chilly nights, there's even a propane heater.
