Located outside of Blowing Rock on your way to Boone, is the scenic Blue Ridge Parkway and longtime favorite, Tweetsie Railroad.
Surrounding Area: With its many overlooks, picnic areas, and hiking trails, cruising the Blueridge Parkway is a popular way to spend your day. Boone enjoys many year round cultural events sponsored by Appalachian State University. Take State Road 105 out towards Linville to find one of the most unique biospheres in the world, Grandfather Mountain. You can hike, see native animals, and walk across the mile high swinging bridge. Everything from skiing to white water rafting is within close proximity to A Cabin in the Woods.

My husband and I lived in the Florida Keys, but had been coming up to the mountains each summer to hike. Each time we came up, it seemed like we stayed longer and longer! We began looking for property, thinking that we would like to have a summer home. After a few years, we found a beautiful 22 acre piece of property just outside of the town of Blowing Rock and built a log cabin. We have since then moved up here to the nearby city of Lenoir. We love the four seasons and all of the different activities that each season offers. Our cabin is nestled in the woods and gives us a feeling of calm serenity.

Unique Benefits
We love the solitude and what being out in the woods has to offer, but, with the convenience of being so close to so many activities in town.The quaint town of Blowing Rock never seems to change. The folks are friendly, the ice cream on a hot day can't be beat, and the restaurants are the best ever!

Clean, Cozy and Relaxing!

My husband and I along with our 2 dogs enjoyed a very relaxing long weekend at the cabin. Upon arriving we found the cabin to be very clean, cozy and ready for us to settle in. It certainly was secluded and the property was beautiful! Our dogs loved running around the property and we spent a lot of time sitting on the porch enjoying the peace and tranquility and listening to the creek. We left at the end of the weekend feeling refreshed and relaxed. I would highly recommend this cabin and I know that we will be visiting again soon!

A hidden gem!

We rented this cabin with our three young children while planning a trip to Tweetsie Railroad (which is fantastic, by the way). What we didn't realize is that we'd be staying at a very special cabin with nice trails, great views and just a comfortable feel all around. And the owners could not have been more hospitable. We would DEFINITELY return here. Thank you so much!!

This was our second time in the area. A Cabin in the woods really has it all. It is away and yet close to everything. We really enjoyed all the games we found at the cabin. My boys were crazy about the ping pong table, loved hiking on the trails, they even baked cookies every night. It was all about quality family time. We got the chance to me the owner and he was very kind and polity... What else can you ask for??? I will recommed this place 100%
