This is a large, classic, in-town house which was completely remodeled inside in 2004, and newly decorated in 2011-2012 with all new paint and furniture. New carpet in 2018. It is a comfortable house for a large family or 2 families vacationing together. The location is ideal - easy walk to beach, town, and Kid's Corner park.
The sunny main living area has a modern, open floor plan, with kitchen, dining room, and living room leading to each other. There is a sun room on the front of the house with a pull-out couch and a desk (bring your own laptop, free wireless Internet is provided)(***NO INTERNET DURING THE OFF-SEASON***) separated by curtains which may be closed for privacy.
The kitchen is well stocked with everything you need to cook at home. The dining room has a table with extension which can seat 10 comfortably in chairs, or you can bring over the bench from the hallway and add a few more people. The living room has a 42 inch flat screen smart TV with DVD player and ROKU, a large super-comfortable sectional couch, another couch, and a recliner. (NO CABLE TV) There is also an Bluetooth speaker and a radio with CD player.
The king size master bedroom with ensuite bathroom with shower (no tub) is on the main floor. The other 3 bedrooms are upstairs, one with a queen-size bed, one with 2 twins, and one with double bunks. There is another flat screen TV with BluRay/DVD player in the bunk bed room. (NO CABLE TV) There are no game systems, but feel free to bring your own. All bedrooms have closets and suitcase stands. The upstairs bath has a shower with tub, and plenty of open-shelf storage for many guests to keep their things handy.
As a bonus there is a small mudroom at the main entrance at the back of the house which offers a convenient place to store shoes and coats, and also a hallway at the side entrance with a bench, hooks, and a table for purses, keys, etc.
The house also comes with a large fully fenced-in private side yard with a fire pit, gas grill, large patio with dining table, basketball area with level concrete playing surface, and grassy area. There is also a front porch facing west from which Lake Michigan is visible. (it's not quite a 'lake view' but you can see it if you look closely!)
All linens are provided except beach towels; please bring your own. There is a new large capacity washer and dryer. Several beach chairs are provided. There are a few kids bikes but please ask to confirm availability of bikes as they are not always maintained. Week-long rentals are Friday - Friday

We fell in love with this house the minute we walked through the door. It is spacious and charming with enough space for our family of 7 and often some friends to feel comfortable. We fell in love with this house the minute we walked through the door. It is spacious and charming with enough space for our family of 7 and often some friends to feel comfortable. The location has been the best feature. It is a very easy walk to town, to the marina, to the beach, and to the very fun Kids Corner Park. It's been fun letting the older kids walk around by themselves. After we arrive we barely use the car except for groceries.
Unique Benefits
The basketball area has been popular with our own family and renters. The yard is big and private. The master suite is on the first floor but away from the main traffic area so it feels private. The lay-out is very family friendly because all the common rooms are open to each other.
