Having lived overseas for many years with a lively and engaged family โ we couldnโt bear the thought any longer of staying in hotels, and so we put our travel experiences into action by developing some wonderful self-catering options for you in Galway City and Dublin City. Fabulous heritage sites and places of great antiquity are yours to explore and remember the ways of our forebears, plus an array of activities and social events to engage with in town all week. And not to be missed, so many live music sessions in the local pubs to participate in. At festival times, such as the โCuirtโ Literary festival, the Galway Intl Film Festival, and fabulous Galway International Arts Festival, the town becomes an enervating creative centre of the universe! The Crescent in Galway City is an elegant original old residential street of town located just around the corner from Sea Road, with everything in town So Walkable! Down along Sea Road, this quickly leads you into the heart of matters via the busy Dominick Street areas and โLatin quartersโ of town, where you will find many excellent cafes, restaurants, traditional Irish pubs, live music and most interesting explorations all along the way. In the other direction, you are remarkably close to the 10 kilometer trail laid along the seaside promenades of Salthill and Blackrock, an outdoor haven for thousands of Galwegians in their daily walk or run along the โpromโ. What better way to start the day than a fresh walk, cycle or run along these promenades, and a pot of hot tea or coffee / Irish breakfast afterwards at one of the many nice cafes and restaurants in Salthill itself! There are many local amenities nearby including a large Super Valu supermarket at end of the street, with a full variety of excellent fresh foods, groceries, and wines, beers & spirits from around the world to choose from. At the other end of the street is a Petrol/Gas filling station and convenience store; and at the end of Sea Road is a very useful Gourmet Foods shop (Ernieโs); so that overall, you are incredibly well-looked-after for all your day to day needs.

A little further from this, turning left into the โSmall Craneโ, is an interesting โCollectorโs Itemsโ Books & Curiosity Shop... and from here you are already at the beginning of the Town Centre. There are amazing Trips and Tours to arrange to an exciting array of historical sites and places of great antiquity, and to the beautiful scenery of Connemara and the West of Ireland (a joy to explore, and a quick hop in a local taxi brings you to the Departing Points in town within minutes from The Crescent.
