Our Athens First Luxury Duplex Penthouse was the property that started it all, setting the tone for Greek Vacation Rentals with its modern furnished living spaces and amazing location right in the heart of Athens.
Light-filled and homey – but with all the little touches to remind you that you’re on vacation – this 3-bedroom, 2-bath sanctuary is located on a quiet street just steps from all the action. After your days spent exploring, step inside and fall into the American-style comforts of home.
SPACE TO UNWIND
The sun-soaked rooms are airy and inviting, with a fully stocked kitchen to delight foodies and their hungry families. Don’t worry, you’ll find all the needed conveniences to make dining-in a breeze (like coffee machine, dishwasher, and full-sized washer and dryer – a rarity in central Athens!).
The apartment is spread comfortably over two levels, making it a great choice for couples traveling together who want privacy; or multi-generational families keen to explore all the riches of the Greek capital.
With three levels of outdoor living space, you can wake up slowly with a cup of coffee overlooking the city or sink into a couch in the shade after a day’s exploring. There's a private veranda on each level, plus an Acropolis view terrace on the rooftop. We can't think of anywhere better to enjoy a glass of ouzo than overlooking the Acropolis and Mount Lykavittos.

The master bedroom located on the main floor has a plush Queen bed dressed in high thread-count linens, with the convenience of a bathroom with glass-enclosed walk-in shower right next door.
On the second level, you’ll find a bedroom with a double bed & 2 twin beds (ideal for globe-trotting kids), plus a third bedroom with a Queen bed - with a shared bathroom featuring an American-style bath-shower combo. The bedrooms sleep 7, and a sofabed sleeps 2 more.

You'll find authentic Athens right outside your door in tree-lined squares, restaurants, and farmers' markets. Your central location also means that the city's rich historical center is just steps away. Walk or hop on the tram to visit the city's top museums (the Cycladic, the Benaki, and the National Art Gallery to name a few). You can also study modern Greek life with people-watching in the parks and cafes you'll find along the way.
You won't need a car to get around Athens, but if you have one, we've got convenient indoor parking.

Who would have thought when I told my husband I wanted to buy a little pied-a-terre in his hometown, Athens, Greece, that I’d end up with the greatest accidental career of my life? Born and raised in Chicago, my love for travel was evident early on. My earliest jobs were always in Chicago’s Greek diners, my university days filled with hours playing backgammon in the cafeteria with my Greek friends, and my Eurail passes always started and ended my European backpacking holidays in Greece.
No one was surprised when I met Basil, a romantic writer, born & bred in Athens, fell in love, & married him. I longed to plant some roots for our family in Basil’s hometown. A small studio overlooking Mount Lykavittos was to be our Athens crash pad, but thanks to what seemed then an unfortunate turn of events, our home in Athens ended up being the beautiful Athens First Luxury Duplex. Larger than we had planned, offering it as a short term furnished rental seemed the logical way to afford it. Little did we realize that it would become so popular we’d be sleeping on friends’ couches rather than in our own Athens home! Since then we've added to the collection, and the idea of our little crash pad has grown to a fab & fun Real Greece experience business. Sharing our homes & our love of Greece -- with guests from around the globe.
