Wow! Vacation homes like this don't come around very often. The Lady Slipper Lodge offers privacy and serenity on a 32-acre woodsy point between a 47' deep 80-acre lake and a 25' deep 60-acre lake that are connected by a navigable channel. The Lady Slipper Lodge is a modern and fully equipped home with everything you will need. We are located in the heart of the Chippewa National Forest in north central Minnesota just 3 1/2 hours north of the Twin Cities. The Lodge is just 90' from both lakes on two sides with a gradual slope. There is a lake view out of every window and nothing but forest as far as you can see in all directions.
The Lodge is the only home on one of the two lakes and it shares the other lake with only one other lake home. Practically all the rest of the land all around both lakes is the Chippewa National Forest or land owned by the state or county. If you hear any noise at the Lady Slipper Lodge, you are most likely making it yourself.
Our 32 acres are full of walking trails with benches and the property is close to snowmobile trails and ATV trails as well. You would need to go miles to the north, south or east before you would run into another home. If you want to get away from it all, this is the place to for you.
In spring and winter it is advisable to have a 4-wheel drive to handle the 3/4 mile Forest Service road and our 1/4 mile long driveway.
Although we know that most young people are responsible, we prefer to rent to families and to groups of mature adults.

There are 4 queen-sized beds, one of which has a twin bunk bed on top. There are also 2 full-sized futons and cushions that some of our guests put on the floor for kids. All linens are supplied.

One of the main things our guests comment about is the serenity at the Lady Slipper Lodge. You will feel as though you are all alone way up in Canada. There is only one other home on Upper Milton and no other private property on Lower Milton, all of which is surrounded by thousands of acres of public forest with logging roads and trails. One of the main things our guests comment about is the serenity at the Lady Slipper Lodge. You will feel as though you are all alone way up in Canada. There is only one other home on Upper Milton and no other private property on Lower Milton, all of which is surrounded by thousands of acres of public forest with logging roads and trails. You will also find many groomed trails right on our 32-acre point and if you really like to hike, you can check out the North Country Hiking Trail that goes across Minnesota and touches Upper Milton. In fact, some of our guests drive to a road nearby where the trail comes out and then walk about 2 miles on the trail back through the forest to the Lady Slipper Lodge. That is a very nice trail with some high hills and very old pine trees.
The fishing is also great on both Milton lakes and you can see many photos of fish caught in Lake Milton on our website at www.ladyslipperlodge.com and on the Lady Slipper Lodge FaceBook page. In addition, if you have caught your your limit of crappies, sunfish, bass and northerns, you can drive a short distance to Leech, Winnie, Boy Lake or even Red Lake for your walleye fix.
There are also fun shops in Remer and a lot of antique shops in Crosby as well as a large casino in Walker. We also proivdie several bicycles as well as several pairs of snowshoes and XX-skies.
Some of our guests are bird watchers and so we leave an can of birdseed in the laundry room in case you would like to feed the birds and watch them come to the feeders. Also, some of our guests come to see the lady slippers, from which the Lady Slipper Lodge got it's name. In fact in late June and early July it is not unusual to see over 100 showy or pink and white lady slippers on the point behind the Lodge. Don't pick them though. They are Minnesota's state flower and they are protected by law. The red and black raspberries are not protected though, so bring a container and pick yourself some ice cream or pancake toppings.

Cancellation & Refund Policy
In case of cancellation, we will try to re-rent the property for the cancelled time period. If we are successful, we will refund all money paid to us less a $300 re-rental fee. If we cannot re-rent the property, we will not be able to make a refund, but we will apply any money we keep to another rental within the next 12 months.

After looking for two years we found the perfect Up North location to build our dream home. The Lady Slipper Lodge is tucked away in the middle of the Chippewa National Forest on a 32-acre woodsy point between two clean lakes that offer great fishing for crappies, sunnies, northerns and bass. We are the only private property on one of the lakes and we share the other lake with only one other rental lake home. Other than our friendly neighbors, Pat and Sue, who live about a half mile away, there are no other residents for miles to the north, south or east.
We are located in the middle of some of the best grouse and deer hunting in Minnesota and you can ride your ATVs and snowmobiles right out the the property. You can shoot guns, let the dogs run and the children scream and no one will care. It would be hard to find a more serene, wilderness-like location.
Although the Lady Slipper Lodge is very private, it is only 5 miles from Remer, Minnesota where you will find a large grocery store, a restaurant, a hardware store, a bait store, a Dollar Store, bars and quaint retail shops. We are also only about 35 miles from both Walker and Grand Rapids Minnesota where there is a hospital and most of the major box stores.

The Lady Slipper Lodge is unique in its privacy. There is a good chance that you will not see another person the entire time you are there. Although sometimes people come to the lakes to fish, no one comes to the lake to jet ski, water ski or party. If there is any noise, it will be because you are making it.
It is also unique in its pink and white and yellow lady slipper flowers. You will find the yellow lady slippers in bloom from around May 25th through June 15th and you will find the pink and white, or the showy lady slippers in bloom from around June 20th to July 4th.
If you are looking for a totally private Up North feel, the Lady Slipper Lodge will be perfect for you. You will be treated to the melodic call of the loons and if you are lucky, the haunting call of the timber wolves. The home has a 23-foot-high knotty pine great room with many wildlife mounts including moose, elk, deer, ducks and much more. The floor plan is open with a wood-burning fireplace and a large rock chimney in the great room. There are also very large windows that will give you that outdoor feeling even while you are inside the home. There is also a toasty gas fireplace in the lower level and if you like hiking, there are not only our many trails, but miles and miles of logging roads and hiking trails in every direction..
If you like to fish, our lakes will not disappoint you. Every year our renters report catching large northerns and bass and the lakes are full of crappies and sunfish as well. If you like to swim, you will find the lakes very clean. While we do not have a sandy beach, we have a swimming raft for the good swimmers and a ladder at the end of one of our docks. There is also a public sandy beach at Little Sand Lake about 5 miles away from the Lady Slipper Lodge.
Most of our guests are families and many report that of all the places they have stayed, they like the Lady Slipper Lodge the best.
