This delightful country cottage has four bedrooms with two on the ground floor, so ideal for all ages. There are two zip and link beds with the flexibility of twin or 6ft double upstairs, a standard double and another twin bedroom on the ground floor. This delightful country cottage has four bedrooms with two on the ground floor, so ideal for all ages. There are two zip and link beds with the flexibility of twin or 6ft double upstairs, a standard double and another twin bedroom on the ground floor. With the addition of a standard width sofa bed in the family living room on the ground floor the property sleeps 10. A cot and high chair are on site and for the occasional sleep over another child can be accommodated.
A walk in tiled wet room, a family bathroom with Victorian style fittings on the ground floor continue to offer accessible options for elderly or infirm guests, which upstairs you will find a third WC and WB conveniently situated between the two bedrooms.
The kitchen diner seats 10 around an extending table. Self catering is a pleasure in the country style kitchen with windows on three sides looking out over a lovely cottage and orchard garden with red squirrels and brown hares, pretty rose bushes and mountain ash tree. Preparing meals is a breeze with double sink, double oven with grill and 4 hotplates, a microwave, toaster, kettle and multi-type coffee maker plus a myriad of kitchen utensils, and pans, even a bread maker and hand blender are supplied. Simple, elegant china and glassware enable you to present your meals with style. Add a bunch of freshly cut flowers or leaves and berries in a vase on the kitchen table or out on the garden dining terrace and enjoy the company and the views.
Adjoining the kitchen and living room is a conservatory and the light from this filters beautifully through to the adjacent rooms. This in turn leads to the dining terrace which is also accessible from the one and a half acre garden.
The living room is furnished with fabric covered sofas and chairs for up to 11 guests to sit and enjoy the wood burning stove (logs provided) and the views. A glazed french window leads onto the same terrace and there are views to the Galloway Hills and over lush pasture and woodland.
A digital TV with freeview stations and DVD player plus a selection of DVDs can be found in the living room. A bluetooth enabled radio and MP3 and CD player and a small selection of CDs is available for use in the living areas. A good size coffee table doubles up as a small library of books and family games. An additional toy box contains toys for younger children.
A games barn with table tennis table is sited across a courtyard with parking space for 4 cars. The games barn has an indoor swing for children up to 4. This barn can be locked with a padlock so also doubles up as storage for bikes, fishing and golf equipment.
At one end it incorporates a kennel enclosure with door leading to a fully enclosed shaded grass area for up to 4 dogs if required.
There are wonderful dog walks through old woodland and forest tracks and beside lochs and streams right from the cottage door.

The family is now spread between Scotland, England and France so get-togethers are very precious occasions. We love heading to the beaches on the Galloway Coast and our favourite is at Rigg Bay.
We share our home with two labradors and a wire haired jack russell terrier. We keep a small flock of rare breed sheep and indian runner ducks for fun.
We moved our home and businesses to Dumfries and Galloway from Oxfordshire in 1999 having commuted to London for many years. We run our day to day business life from Galloway but keep in touch with clients from Aberdeenshire in Scotland and in south of England. The pace of life in Galloway is worlds apart from what we were used to.
People have time to stop and chat in Galloway. You wave to passing cars in case you know the drivers. Neighbours drop by with fruit they have grown or cakes they have baked.
Why This Property?
The moment you turn off the A75 and head up the lane towards Carsebuie you feel there is something special in store. I first spotted the cottage in March when it was surrounded by a sea of frothy yellow and cream daffodils. The birds were singing and the sun was shining.

On my next visit when I was alone without any dogs about and a brown hare was basking in the sunlight on the lawn. Moments later I looked out of the ground floor bedroom window to see a red squirrel run the length of the mountain ash tree to get at the nuts hanging from a branch. At that moment I know I wanted to share this special place with like minded people who would enjoy the peace and tranquility. With lovely views from almost every window it is like eye candy. As an artist I could not resist it.

Well located in terms of regional access, yet 2 miles down a lovely lane away from the main road the passes through the whole of Dumfries and Galloway. The area is back to back fields, woodland, forest and beaches. You will meet friendly faces from all over Scotland and Ireland, which is only a short ferry ride away, and you will find many folk who have moved to Galloway from England because they came for a week and fell in love with the unspoilt area.
There are apple trees in the orchard which leads down to woodland and a meandering stream just beyond the boundary. Sheep and cows graze nearby, and overhead you could see golden plovers or bunting, or if you are really lucky a golden eagle.
There are places to fish within a bicycle ride or short drive away. Or if golf is your thing you can choose from 30 courses in the area including a stunning 9 hole links course overlooking the west coast which offers plenty of challenge to even a seasoned player, and you wont believe how reasonably priced a round of golf is in any of the local courses. But if you want to watch the Golf Open Championship you can get to Turnberry or Royal Troon by car within 1 hour and one and a half hours respectively.
